Ron Paul: For and Against Isolationism
"...[W]e must not isolate ourselves. The generosity of the American people has been felt around the globe. Many have thanked God for it, in many languages. Let us have a strong America, conducting open trade, travel, communication, and diplomacy with other nations."
RonPaul2008.com - "War and Foreign Policy"
"So called free trade deals and world governmental organizations like the International Criminal Court (ICC), NAFTA, GATT, WTO, and CAFTA are a threat to our independence as a nation. ... Let’s not forget the UN. It wants to impose a direct tax on us. I successfully fought this move in Congress last year, but if we are going to stop ongoing attempts of this world government body to tax us, we will need leadership from the White House.
"We must withdraw from any organizations and trade deals that infringe upon the freedom and independence of the United States of America."
RonPaul2008.com - "American Independence and Sovereignty"
"H.R. 1146 would end our membership in the United Nations."

Ron Paul On Racism
The Government Causes Racism
"Government as an institution is particularly ill-suited to combat bigotry. Bigotry at its essence is a problem of the heart, and we cannot change people's hearts by passing more laws and regulations.
"It is the federal government that most divides us by race, class, religion, and gender."
Government Causes Minority Groups to Fail
"Through its taxes, restrictive regulations, corporate subsidies, racial set-asides, and welfare programs, government plays far too large a role in determining who succeeds and who fails. Government "benevolence" crowds out genuine goodwill by institutionalizing group thinking, thus making each group suspicious that others are receiving more of the government loot. This leads to resentment and hostility among us."
People Who Advocate "Diversity" Are The Real Racists
"Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans strictly as members of groups rather than as individuals. Racists believe that all individuals who share superficial physical characteristics are alike: as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called "diversity" actually perpetuate racism."

Ron Paul: Guns For All
Guns In Our National Parks
"H.R. 1897 would end the ban on carrying a firearm in the National Park System, restoring Americans’ ability to protect themselves in potentially hazardous situations."
Guns On Planes
"H.R. 3305 would allow pilots and specially assigned law enforcement personnel to carry firearms in order to protect airline passengers, possibly preventing future 9/11-style attacks."
Assault Weapons For the Mentally Ill
"In the past, I introduced legislation to repeal the so-called “assault weapons” ban before its 2004 sunset, and I will oppose any attempts to reinstate it.
"I also recently opposed H.R. 2640, which would allow government-appointed psychiatrists to ban U.S. veterans experiencing even mild forms of Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome from ever owning a gun."

Ron Paul: Against Judicial Review
"I am also the prime sponsor of HR 300, which would negate the effect of Roe v Wade by removing the ability of federal courts to interfere with state legislation to protect life. This is a practical, direct approach to ending federal court tyranny which threatens our constitutional republic..."

Ron Paul: For And Against Strict Constitutionalism
"Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas) is the leading advocate for freedom in our nation’s capital. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Dr. Paul tirelessly works for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies. He is known among his congressional colleagues and his constituents for his consistent voting record. Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution."
RonPaul2008.com - "Issues"
"In Congress, I have authored legislation that seeks to define life as beginning at conception, HR 1094."
RonPaul2008.com - "Life & Liberty"
(Note: Paul's answer to this is that he can author and promote such legislation to win it majority support, but then when it comes up for a vote he actually votes against it to maintain his "pure" constitutionalism. I am not making this up.)

"Ron Paul: For and Against Isolationism"
Being strictly free market and against managed trade makes him an isolationist? Or is it his opposition to an extragovernmental body that violates US sovereignty?
"Ron Paul: Understands Kids"
Rhetoric. Put it in context. I hope you're not critical of that stance.
"Ron Paul On Racism"
Forced diversity and affirmative action are inherently racist. That's a standard conservative stance.
"Ron Paul: Guns For All"
The NRA (and the overwhelming majority of Republican congressmen) supported H.R. 3305 and opposed the Clinton Assault Weapon ban--the latter of which had nothing to do with the mentally ill. H.R. 2640 was strongly opposed by the GOA and many NRA members, though the NRA signed off on it as a compromise. The most controversial part of the bill opens the door to banning Americans with ADHD from owning a gun. Oh, and the last time I checked, National Parks are not listed as an exemption to any of our God-given rights enumerated in the Constitution.
"Ron Paul: Against Judicial Review "
Even James Madison had serious concerns with how quickly the Judiciary swamped up legislative power. I think he had a pretty good idea what the role of that particular branch was intended to be.
"Ron Paul: For And Against Strict Constitutionalism"
Classic necessary and proper clause case. Like it or not, there is a roll for the Federal government. As such, it has the right and the obligation to write legislation under limited circumstances as well as to bolster our rights guaranteed in the Constitution. A key part of that is a firm understanding of who is protected under those rights. HR 1094 would not have outlawed abortion. That would not be allowed under the constitution. What it would do is codify the idea that the unborn are to be viewed by the federal government in the same way the born are.
"Note"
Wrong. Ron Paul does not promote unconstitutional legislation--for popularity or for any other reason. The Paul comment you're referring to has to do with earmarks (which are NOT spending increases, by the way). He simply forwards on his constituents' requests for earmarks, telling them from the outset that he will vote against it. If a bloated bureaucracy is going to piss money away on something, the taxpayers in his district has as much of a right to that money as anyone else. Under a Ron Paul presidency, this would be a moot point.
